Can I really enter China visa-free in 2026?
In most cases — yes.

In one breath

TL;DR.

  1. 01

Most North American, EU, UK, and Australian passport holders can transit visa-free for 144 or 240 hours through Chengdu or Chongqing.

  2. 02

You must enter and leave via an approved international airport. We'll match your itinerary to one.

  3. 03

You must hold an onward ticket to a third country (not your origin). Your planner verifies this before booking.

What 144 / 240 hours actually means

The 144-hour and 240-hour transit visa-free policies let eligible passport holders enter mainland China without a visa, provided they exit to a third country (not their country of origin) within the window. Chengdu Tianfu and Chongqing Jiangbei are both approved entry points for our region.

Who qualifies

Holders of passports from the United States, Canada, the UK, EU member states, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, South Korea, Singapore, and 50+ other listed nations. The list is updated by Beijing roughly twice a year — your planner re-checks it the week your flights are confirmed.

The one form that actually matters

The Arrival/Departure Card given on the plane and re-verified at passport control. We will send you a pre-filled draft 48 hours before departure, along with a photo of an approved sample answer for the “purpose of visit” field.

What we handle, what you handle

We handle: confirming policy eligibility, structuring your itinerary to land and exit via approved cities, providing the onward ticket booking confirmation. You handle: holding the passport, the third-country ticket, and being awake enough at passport control to answer one or two questions.

Applies / doesn't

Where this fits,
and where it doesn't.

Applies to you if

  • You are a citizen of an eligible country (your planner will confirm)
  • Your stay is 6 or 10 days, depending on the policy variant we book you under
  • You enter via Chengdu Tianfu or Chongqing Jiangbei International
  • You hold an onward ticket to a country other than your origin

Does not apply if

  • Passports from non-listed countries (e.g. Brazilian holders need a tourist visa)
  • Stays longer than 10 days — you'll need a tourist L-visa, which we can guide you through
  • Land border crossings (HK/Macau-to-mainland routes have separate rules)
  • Travelling with under-2 infants without recorded vaccinations
